The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a Payroll Specialist to help run our payroll smoothly as we scale. You’ll work hands-on with internal teams and customers to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing globally.

In countries where we already operate, your mission is to level up how we work — improving processes, tooling, technology, and reporting. You’ll help build a scalable and resilient payroll process that remains best-in-class in our industry. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, bringing structure to complex operations, and continuously improving the business.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Process payroll accurately and on time for employees and contractors globally
  • Coordinate with customers to ensure payroll inputs, approvals, and deadlines are met
  • Review and validate payroll data including hours, salaries, bonuses, deductions, and benefits
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, in partnership with internal Operations and Engineering teams, our customers, and our payroll providers
  • Ensure compliance with local payroll, tax, and employment regulations, keeping up-to-date with any compliance changes
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, reports, and documentation
  • Partner with Customer Success and Product on payroll-related workflow improvements
  • Support payroll audits, reconciliations, month-end, and year-end payroll activities

Great candidates will have:
  • 3+ years of experience in payroll operations
  • Experience with payroll systems and tools (experience with multi-country systems is a plus!)
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage sensitive information
  • Working knowledge of payroll compliance, taxes, and statutory requirements
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • A strong sense of ownership — you care deeply about the quality and impact of your work

About the Borderless AI team:
  • We're an early stage company and we love to collaborate in person 5 days a week in our Toronto HQ.
  • We offer a healthy benefits & perks package, including free lunch everyday.
  • Customers are the heart of our business, we're obsessed with our customers, and that drives the bulk of our decisions.
  • Big challenges don’t scare us. We’re solving global problems that need creativity, technology, and determination. Be part of the impact!
  • We'll grant you a lot of autonomy and trust, and back it up with meaningful empowerment and support.

We appreciate your interest and application. Only those applicants under consideration will be contacted.
